Hemp seed oil—not to be confused with hemp oil,is made out of purely hemp seeds. CBD oil, in turn, is made from leaves, stalks, and flowers of hemp (and sometimes seeds as well). "Hempseed Oil is the oil derived from the seeds of the hemp plant which is a cannabis plant cultivated for non-drug use. The oil is legally and used in large quantity for cosmetics, nutritional supplementation and skin oils. It can be legally used when it has a tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) content of less than 0.3%," Dr. Schep tells us.
Hemp seed oil is high in omega acids 3, 6, and 9, all of which help repair the skin barrier and form a seal over the skin to keep moisture trapped inside.
It is also a humectant, so it draws moisture to the skin.
Those same omega acids in hemp seed oil also help lower inflammation in the skin.
"Hemp seed oil is rich in fatty acids, which help hydrate and soothe inflamed skin," says Zeichner.
Zeichner also says it "may even modulate skin oil production," which is huge for people with acneic or overly oily skin.
To help achieve better results from the oil, you can rub it directly on dry skin. You can also massage the oil on the affected area and then cover loosely with breathable cloth or wear socks overnight.
If you have brittle nails and cuticles, try applying a little amount of oil on your hand, and massage them firmly. Repeat the process every day until you get the desired results.
Put some oil on your hand and rub gently on the area with the makeup. It will dissolve the waxes and oils in the makeup, and leave your skin looking natural.
Using about one tablespoonful of oil, massage your face for a couple of minutes. Then, put a hot (of course not scalding) damp washcloth and place on your face. Repeat as desired, then wash off the face.
Put a small amount of oil on your hand and work it out on the area of the skin with acne.
